I have been an active and qualified official Oslo Guide since 2011 and a requirement of this status is that I have an up to date and detailed knowledge of Norway's capital city. Norwegian and English Advanced level. I have taught in both languages during my long career as a qualified teacher. Part of my formal education was in England and during my teaching career I taught for a number of years in International Education.
Competence and background:
As well as being a qualified Oslo Guide, I am a retired teacher with many years experience teaching the Norwegian language to native speakers and visitors to Norway who have not encountered the language previously. My skills as a professional teacher contribute greatly to my delivery of knowledge as an Oslo Guide.
I am passionate about my native country and especially about Oslo where I have resided for many years. It gives me great pleasure to guide visitors to Oslo and share my passion for Norway´s capital.
In addition to guiding in all of Oslo´s museums, parks and other attractions, I am a specialist in "Crime walks in Oslo" following the footsteps of fictional police detective Harry Hole, the main character from twelve books written by the "The Nordic King of crime novels", Jo Nesbø.
I also specialise in family tours, and children's tours where I use my extensive knowledge of Norwegian fairly tales and mythology to enhance their experience.
